Wendy's Engineering Lab Tour
HFES will be touring the Wendy's corporate office and engineering lab this Thursday, 3/05, at 5 pm. The tour will last approximately 1 hour and is ergonomic and safety themed. There are less than 5 spots left so please RSVP to Natalie Zaborski (email@example.com) by this Wednesday if you are interested in attending. The spots will fill on a first come, first served basis.
Representatives from Anheuser Busch will be taking our students on a tour of their facility on Monday, 3/09, at 4 pm. They will show us their manufacturing processes and demonstrate how industrial engineering is relevant in their industry. This tour is limited to 20 students, so you must sign up beforehand and we will arrange transportation. If you are interested, please fill out this survey.
2016 Leadership Summit Applications
Applications to become the 2016 Leadership Summit Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator are being accepted until March 6th. Once all of the applications have been collected, interviews will be conducted and the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator of the event will be chosen by the IIE Executive Board. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. The application can be found here. Both positions use the same application, so if you would prefer to only apply for one of the positions, please indicate this in your application.
2015 Engineering Expo Committee Chair Applications
Committee chair applications for the 2015 Engineering Expo are now available. These chair positions are great leadership opportunities and are an excellent way to get involved! Please send completed applications to Erin Maher (email@example.com) by 5 pm on Friday, 3/13. Follow up interviews will be held the week of March 30th. Feel free to contact Erin with any questions! GM Innovation Challenge
Ohio State SME will be hosting the GM Innovation Challenge this year. Teams of 2 to 4 members will brainstorm and present ways to either improve manufacturing or use robot systems and software to assist humans in improving manufacturing. The winning team from Ohio State will win $500 per team member, travel accommodations to participate in round 2 at GM's global headquarters, and a networking opportunity with GM Leaders. Members must be full time undergrad students for this Spring 2015, at least sophomore status, have a GPA of 3.0, and must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Registration is open from now through March 16th and can be found here.
