In an effort to connect our students to our top tier faculty and helping them explore potential career paths, we will be featuring speakers from the different disciplines of the field of Industrial Engineering. Join us after the involvement meeting on Wednesday, 2/25, in Baker 120 from 6 to 7 pm for a speech hosted by Dr. Mike Rayo. Dr. Rayo will help us explore the concepts of human centered design and how we can better understand the intersection of people, technology, and work. He will be sharing with us his latest research in applying concepts of cognitive engineering to contemporary work environments.
We will be having our second involvement meeting on Wednesday, 2/25, from 5:30 to 6 pm in Baker Systems Rm 188. We will be checking on the progress of all of the projects that were assigned earlier in the semester. If you are looking for a way to become more involved with IIE, this is the perfect opportunity! Food will be provided and our first Speaker Series will follow the event..
4th Annual Fisher Simulation Case
The 4th Annual Fisher Simulation Case Competition will be taking place on February 27th - 28th. Cash prizes of $900, $350, and $250 will be awarded to the top 3 teams. We are looking for a team of 4-6 students to represent IIE in the competition this year. 2016 Leadership Summit Coordinator
Applications to become the 2016 Leadership Summit Coordinator are being accepted until March 6th. Once all of the applications have been collected, interviews will be conducted and the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator of the event will be chosen by the IIE Executive Board. Our next Happy Hour is coming up! It will take place on Friday, 2/27, from 6 to 8 pm at Bernie's on High Street. We will be partnering with ECOS for a night of all you can eat and drink for $10. All are welcome, 21+ to drink.
